Step #1 in Buying A Home

Step #1 in Buying A Home

Buying your first home can be exciting and scary at the same time. Every day thousands of first-time home buyers begin their search on the Internet, click on the first agents photo next to the house they want to see, and set up an appointment to go look at the house.

Seems logical. It may seem logical but this is NOT I repeat NOT how you should look for a home.

Okay, Mr. real estate guru how should I do it then?

I’m so glad you asked.

The first step in buying a home is the same as building one, make sure you have figured out how much you can afford comfortably. in other words, know your budget.

And how do I do that? another great question! You contact a professional full time real estate agent like myself that can guide you through the process from start to finish.

The first thing I do is give my buyers a list of lenders to choose from that can help them prepare to buy a home based on what they can comfortably afford.

Again I say comfortably afford, for a reason.

I want you to enjoy your home for years to come, and not regret the day you bought it, and it is my job to help you do just that.

So the first step is to call a lender and obtain a pre-qualification letter, This first step can’t be emphasized enough, it tells the seller of your new home you are a serious buyer not just a looker, someone that is qualified to purchase their property and that you take the whole process as serious as they do.

You are a ready, willing and ABLE (Pre-qualified ) buyer…..

Now you are ready to call your realtor again and ask them to set up appointments for you to see all the homes that you are interested in.

Now is the time to have fun, shopping, comparing the features and benefits of each property you look at, and deciding on the right fit for you and your family.

Congratulations, you have just completed buying your your first home 101.
